Scott Griffith
CINCINNATI — Christopher Scott Griffith, who started serving as a monitor engineer for Harry Connick, Jr. in 2007 but then had to change careers after a 2013 motorcylce accident left him paralyzed from the neck down, died early on Sept. 1, 2022.
Griffith had been one of two people injured in a Kroger parking lot the night before when, according to court documents, a woman intentionally drove into both people. The driver, Taah’viya Chapman, 24, was arrested after the crash and is now facing a murder charge with bail set at $500,000. The other person injured in the attack, Jawon Khalid Lundsford, survived his injuries.
Griffith’s brother, Greg, told reporters how Scott had made slow but steady progress in recovering from the 2013 accident. “He could walk — he needed a cane, but he could walk and function and live on his own.” He added that, along with Harry Connick, Jr., Scott Griffith had also worked on the audio crew for artists including Aerosmith, ZZ Top, Prince, The Temptations and The Four Tops.
